Home Ventilation Program
Although technically possible, ventilation therapy outside of the hospital remains challenging and highly complex. There is a growing need for continuum of care to ensure early discharge from hospital without compromise on the quality of care.
With the help of our team of medical specialists and access to the latest state-of-the-art equipment, we are able to offer the ventilated patient precision care and unrivalled aftercare support. We specialize in Invasive Home Ventilation for both paediatric and adult patients and our dedicated homecare coordinators and case managers are there to ensure a seamless transition from ICU to home.
We appreciate that Home Ventilation is a relatively new concept in South Africa and that there is seldom a fixed payment methodology at medical funders. We are thus flexible in our billing practice and offer both per item billing as well as daily global fee options.
Invasive Positive Pressure Ventilation(IPPV)
Non-Invasive-Ventilation, also known as mask assisted ventilation refers to the administration of ventilator support without the use of an invasive artificial airway like a tracheostomy or endo-tracheal tube.
We provide a wide range of NIV devices each designed to provide a certain level of support. Your doctor will determine the level of support required and an appropriate device will then be recommended.
Invasive Positive Pressure Ventilation, also known as mechanical ventilation refers to the administration of ventilator support with the use of an invasive artificial airway like a tracheostomy or endo-tracheal tube.
Patients requiring IPPV are often dependent on the ventilator device for life support. It is therefore essential that the equipment be robust and reliable with at least 2- 4 hours of internal battery back-up.
